Impact Fees

Imposition of impact fees is governed by statutes found in Chapter 395 of the Texas Local Government Code.

City Examples:

• Fort Worth has a nice page related to water and wastewater impact fees, with links to its Capital Improvements Plan, Land Use Assumptions and impact fee ordinance (2016).
• Round Rock also has a nice page related to its recently adopted roadway impact fee. It has links to the ordinance and a separate page detailing the entire adoption process. Very helpful example of how one city navigated this process.
